Shark Robotic Vacuums: Shop for Household Essentials and Vacuums

On top of those specific tests, my floors looked spectacular after running the vacuum. It was so efficient at cleaning the floors that I was able to mop immediately after without having to worry about any dust or debris left behind. The earliest model, the Swedish-made Electrolux Trilobite, came to market in 2001.

We’ve also noticed that the lesser-known brands have not updated their robots’ software with bug fixes or new features as consistently as Roborock has. We’ve tried several Eufy models, including the RoboVac G30 Edge, the RoboVac G30, and the RoboVac G20. The last is the newest model, but it’s our least favorite of the trio, and none are better than our top picks. We like the G30 models best since they include very basic mapping, a 110-minute run time (versus 90 minutes on the G20), a Cleaning History in the app, and more push buttons on top.

The whole point of a robot vacuum is to cut down on your housework, but cleaning the unit itself can become just another chore on your (probably already long) list. If you’re tired of emptying your bot’s bursting dustbin on the daily, consider investing in a more self-sufficient model with automatic bin-emptying abilities. Whether you’re looking to avoid allergens or simply want to do as little housework as possible, these are the top self-emptying robot vacuums we’ve tested. While the s9+ doesn’t have the Precision Navigation feature that the newer j7 does, it has something called “Careful Driver” that uses a 3D sensor to detect and clean around objects.

The Shark Ion Robot cannot go up and down stairs, so you would have to pick it up and put it on the next floor. Once you have placed it on one of the floors, you don’t have to worry about it falling down the stairs. The Shark ION Robot Vacuum gets debris off every nook and cranny in your home. You can control it with the SharkClean app or with Alexa or Google Assistant.

Which one is right for you all depends on the type of flooring you have, whether you have pets, or how many obstacles you have to avoid. Both are almost equally matched, but if we have to choose one, it would be Shark. Roomba tends to do a better job on many types of flooring from tile to laminate or shark canister vacuum low-pile carpet. Regardless of the price and features, it all comes down to whether you will need to spend time going back over the floor after the unit is finished. We have already discussed some of the features such as self-emptying, the ability to control the unit from your smartphone, and others.

After this assessment, we evaluated whether the device improved our regular cleaning routine. When it comes to cleaning performance, the Roborock S7+ did a great job sucking up dirt around my home. This isn’t the robot vacuum to get if you want the most polished experience – and you may very well want that if you’re dropping $1,000 on one – but it remains a powerful vac-and-mop machine with a handful of extra perks. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the topic of pet waste when it comes to the j7+. (So pause here if you’re eating while reading this review.) The brand claims that this particular model is ideal for pet owners, as the obstacle avoidance abilities allow it to spot and avoid pet waste on the floor.

The Trifo Max worked fine in our tests, nothing impressive or obviously bad. Owner reviews suggest it gets lost pretty easily, isn’t built to last, and has poor customer service. We haven’t shark dustbuster tested Trifo’s other models, but we would expect similar results. It will look stupid sometimes, and that can shatter the illusion that you have an artificially intelligent magic machine.
