While aesthetically, the quality of the bike was fantastic, I did run into quality issues. The front shock squeaked when I went over bumps, and the front derailleur wouldn’t shift through all of the gears.

The Tour de Fer is a steel touring-specific bike with a longer, stable wheelbase, and comes complete with mudguards and racks. Finally, for the bikepackers, the Longitude is a fully rigid, steel-framed mid-fat expedition adventure bike. The Mantle is the brand’s XC and endurance bike, and is a full carbon 29er hardtail with 100mm travel. You’ll find a range of materials used in Genesis bikes, though the brand is well loved for its steel offerings. An impressive fork at this price point and sensible kit are great and the wheels finish the package off nicely but the main attraction here is the geometry.

Bikes for all occasions, from all materials, that ride well, last a lifetime and look good while they’re at it. Last but by no means least is the better than expected Rock Shox Recon Gold TK with 120mm of travel, a tapered steerer and a 15mm axle. Genesis supply the 27.2mm seat post, 75mm stem and 685mm medium rise bars, the Flux saddle is practical but may not suit everyone. A combination of clean lines and an eye pleasing Cyan Blue paint job make the Core a very pretty bike and at a price that is pretty attractive too. But the external cable routing makes it hard for me to get interested, it looks more cluttered.

I don’t have to worry about destroying the frame of my bike if I hit the derailleur. It was sub $200 and offered a lot for the price, as we will talk about here in a moment. There was a lot to like about the Genesis Incline, including the price, its suspension and even the styling, let’s take a look at everything more in depth here. The bike also offers a full suspension, which means you have shocks in the front and rear of the bike. It is meant specifically for taller folks like me (I’m 6′ 1″) however I think people a bit shorter than me would be right at home. After a lot of research, I had decided on the Schwinn Boundary, however once I arrived at the store the one I had just seen there had been bought, and I was left without a bike.

It’s the ultimate all-round all-terrain machine, with a hardy steel frameset, disc brakes, relaxed geometry and mounts for all the additional fittings you might need. The Croix de Fer comes in three steel options (10, 20 and 30) as well as a titanium model. At the entry-level, the Delta is an aluminium frame and carbon fork road bike with endurance genesis mountain bike geometry that comes with rim brakes and provides a comfortable ride. The aluminum structure of the whole body is lighter in weight, which makes it suitable for the first mountain bike. A total of 21 gears, whether climbing or road driving, is enough to use. In low gears, you can ride leisurely and watch the scenery along the way.

It’s hard to get passed the point that this bike has disc brakes on the front, and rim brakes on the front. While it is completely usable, it is just strange, and doesn’t look right. Genesis is known for offering budget-friendly bikes that cater to a wide range of genesis mountain bike riders. They provide a decent quality for the price, making them a suitable choice for beginners or recreational riders who are not looking to invest in high-end bikes. We’d have preferred disc brakes on both wheels, but that would have just pushed the price up.

Racing speed and endurance comfort, yet capable of handling any trail. The dates we provide are based on indications given by our suppliers. Whenever we get updated information from our suppliers we will endeavour to update the Estimated Delivery & Collection Dates provided on product pages. With Pre-Launch, the date when we expect to receive the product ourselves is still a little too hazy to be confident in accepting Pre-Orders. However if you are like me, and plan on keeping this bike long term, the Boundary is worth the extra money for that peace of mind.
