All of the lakes at the park are open to regular fishing. However, ice fishing is not allowed anywhere in the park. There are also some restrictions on fishing locations along shorelines near the main recreation area.
Holly Oaks ORV Park – located in southeast Michigan – utilizes former and active sand and gravel mines, making it a unique destination. Silver Lake State Park is home to a 500-acre ORV scramble area – the only sand dune riding opportunity kent electric bike east of the Mississippi River. One GRIT Freedom Chair is available for rent at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center, allowing users to explore the Kensington nature trails. The chair is available to rent for FREE Tuesday through Sunday each week between May 1 and October 31. Please note, a companion or attendant is suggested as Metroparks staff will not be able to assist with transfers. Paved walkways from the parking lot provide access to most the Farm Center facilities, except for the Living History Village and Sugar Bush areas.

Roadway will be narrowed and approximately 36 parking spaces will be temporarily removed, Monday to Friday from 10 pm to 5 am next morning, through August 11, 2023, to facilitate bridge rehabilitation. Single-lane northbound will be closed from 7 am to 9 am.

School, scout or community groups can experience the nature center with customizable on-site programs. To 10 p.m.; renters must be off the lake and out of the park by 10 p.m. Slips are located in three separate areas; East Boat Launch (no pontoon boats), Mitten Bay (pontoons only) and Boat Rental. Take a weekend hayride (or sleigh ride) through scenic farm and forest land along the Huron River.

Millennium Park isn’t just a place for summertime activities – The trails are also busy in the winter, with cross country skiers, snowshoe hikers, bikers, and even snow runners! The main recreation area of the park is closed in winter, but we do offer an off-season parking lot on the east side of Maynard Ave. The trailhead at Butterworth and O’Brien is also open in the winter for parking. Please note that all restrooms in the park are closed between November 1 and April 30.
Occasionally woodland trails may be blocked with debris such as fallen tree limbs. Nature trails are not cleared or salted in the winter and may be snow-covered, slippery or muddy. Millennium Park two open picnic shelter that are available for picnics and other group which can be reserved for a fee. The park also offers smaller open shelters that are always available first-come, first-served. One of these is within the beach area and the other is at the northern edge of the main recreation area, near the volleyball court.
Games will be used to test newly learnt skills in a fun and informative manner. Once the basics are covered we will move onto some conventional game modes like; Team Deathmatch, Capture the Unicorn, King of the hill and Battlezone Battle Royale!
