Coleman Instant Tent 6 Review: Best Camping Tent Review

Before starting, ensure that all guy lines and stakes are removed. Begin by collapsing the poles starting from the center, gently pushing each section downwards. Take care to neatly fold the tent fabric, avoiding any sharp twists or bends, to prevent tears and maintain its longevity.

Its peak height of 73.5 inches is lower than most other 10-person tents, the tent body feels a bit droopy on the widths of the tent, and the side walls aren’t as vertical as I expected them to be. COLEMAN 7X7 ILLUMILINE INSTANT TENT has pre-attached poles make setup a simple matter of unfold, extend and secure, so your tent and the integrated rainfly are ready in about 60 seconds. If it rains, the WeatherTec™ system with its patented welded floors and inverted seams will help you stay dry. When Coleman introduced their first Instant Tent to the world back in 2013 I was a little skeptical it was smaller than similar tents and quite a lot more money. The original Instant 8 has over the years has become an all time favorite along with the more recent Instant Cabin both have huge followings with great ratings. Another of Coleman’s newer two room cabin tents is the Prairie Breeze 9″pictured below” It is also getting very good reviews.

The problem may appear with vertical flaps when you have rain and strong wind which can force water to move to the sides and under the flaps tp the zippers. So my point is that I would not rely on this system as fully waterproof, although it really looks great and durable. Note that in any variant with beds (cots), coleman screen tent you always have space underneath the beds, so you can use it to store your gear. Using air mattresses on the ground is also an option, but they will take all space. Off-ground sleeping is a far better option in any tent. The tent can accommodate two full-size queen beds, one in each of the two rooms.

Also, it’s not completely opaque, and you can actually see quite a bit through it. Each window comes with a small latch to tie the fabric of the windows up, so that it looks neater. Finally, insert the green-colored fiberglass pole through the door pole sleeve (which can be zipped open and close). That being said, I think this is the absolute perfect tent for hot summer days. I was so comfortable inside this tent, and didn’t feel like I was baking (even at 12 noon, when the sun was scorching).

Taking down the Coleman 10-Person Tent and then packing it up takes slightly more than 5 minutes for 2 people, and about ~10 minutes on my own, excluding washing and drying, of course. After, secure the 6 s-hooks of the rainfly to the 6 loops on the base of the tent. Lastly Coleman appear to have teamed up with Realtree to market a new camouflage tent. Available in two versions the Realtree XTRA 4 looks to be exactly the same as the Standard Evanston model, the only difference been the colors.

The windows are a truly great feature, but they are the places where you might expect water passing through the vertical zippers sections. This is again something very useful; so you have two doors with different designs, one is with an inverted T-shape zipper and the other is like a D-shape. Both are with panels and mesh, so you can have windows on the doors as well. This is a bit disappointing part, there are only 2 small mesh pockets for storage.

The Cabin is the perfect kids’ tent, parent tent, or gear tent, but you only get to choose one. At 56 sq ft, you can fit two twin air mattresses with about a foot of hallway left or fill the entire tent wall to wall with a full and a twin. The Cabin wasn’t built for four, but you could make it work in a pinch. The door coleman instant tent only opens halfway, a disappointing feature found in other Coleman tents. With 3 children, we like to spread out and store our gear inside the tent to protect it from the weather and little critters that may get curious. Poles are integrated into the tent so there are no poles to snap together, insert, etc, etc.

You can also leave the tent easily, and get back into the tent easily, through this super, super user-friendly hinged D-door on the left width of the tent. It works just like a regular door, with no need for any zipping. The poles of the Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent are made of steel, and are all pre-attached for an easy set up and take down.

This Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent has 5 windows around the tent, excluding the 2 doors (on the widths of the tent). I felt like there weren’t enough pole clips in this tent, and the tent body felt a bit droopy, especially on this side of the tent. For spaciousness, I looked at the peak height, slope of the walls, and base area.
