We’ll be quick to point out that it’s not a perfect option, but it definitely belongs on your shortlist of options to consider. If you answered yes to both of those questions, then you’ve undoubtedly run into a problem that’s all too common where bigger folk are concerned. Below you can see how this chair stands against my standard rating criteria so you can easily compare with some other chairs. The picture below shows its lightly angled backrest and its solid and padded armrests.
Walmart has a camping chair to fit every personality! These Ozark Trail camp chairs are perfect to take with you to kid’s sports games, camping trips, or to simply have them around so you can lounge in your backyard. ALPS says its Adventure Chair has patented, telescoping legs that help provide extra support. For instance, the front corners of the chair have aluminum supports that extend from each corner straight down.
I have included it to my list of chairs for heavy people. Living in the south, spending time outside is practically second nature. Between barbecues, crawfish boils, and annual family reunions, the great outdoors sort of feels like my second home. After spotting the Ozark Trail Oversized Mesh Cooler Chair on TikTok, I immediately knew I had to get my hands on it. Plus, the seat itself has an extra “X” section of material criss-crossing from all four corners.
It has a high back for increased support and long legs so you sit higher off the ground. The vibrant tie-dye pattern is a happy bonus (and ensures you’ll always know which seat is yours). Reading the reviews people love that it is so roomy and that it’s so comfortable.
We also eliminated all options that didn’t meet some basic requirements, including those with too low of a weight limit or an extremely large packed size. As with most camping gear, chairs aren’t a one-size-fits-all product. There are countless styles, with lots of features you can choose from depending on your specific needs.
Double cup holders are also extra large to hold bigger drinks. If you’re tired of cheap camp chairs falling apart when you’re trying to have a good time camping, grab a couple of ALPS Mountaineering Adventure Chairs. They’re great for guests at your camping spot, great for eating, great for kids, great for roasting marshmallows, and great for sitting at the river bank with your feet in cool water. They’re also built to last far longer than the department store chairs you see poking out of boxes in the aisles each summer.
I bought two of the chairs because they’re relatively compact, rugged, and made with fast-drying mesh — perfect for camping and even better for rafting and float trips. The Everywhere Chair keeps your bottom about 4 inches off the ground. The strap that supports the back (and doubles as a carry ozark trail canopy strap) allows adjustments to control your angle of recline, from upright to a stargazing-appropriate angle. Unlike other portable chairs, the Everywhere Chair is designed to sit on uneven slopes; this can be handy when space is limited at a fireworks show or an outdoor theater performance.
The chair is heavy and bulky and this affects its overall rating but see its other features. Note that there is a light padding on the seat and on the backrest. More padding is added at several sections, see the picture below. The fabric is available in three different colors shown in the pictures. They did not provide information about its denier value and material, but it looks really strong and tough.
The ALPS Mountaineering Adventure Chair has one big drawback — no cup holders. Part of its compact yet strong design is to forego arm rests, which are often used for cup holders. This means that on leisurely camping trips when space isn’t an issue, I’ll still take more lounge-friendly chairs like the YETI Trailhead Camp Chair or the GSI Outdoors Freestyle Rocker. We were impressed with the usability of Renetto’s signature design.
Collapsible rocking camping chairs have removable rocking rails; these take a little more effort to put together, but they provide smoother rocking motions. In addition to that, ozark trail wagon you’ll find a handy cup holder built into the tray, which will virtually eliminate your risk of spilling your drink. The one thing this chair doesn’t have, however, is storage.
