Whoa! What do you think of the head tube on Adam Blythes gold Genesis?

Your bike frame & fork are protected under our Lifetime Warranty policy. The Montane Icemen (Pete Sissons and Paul Cosgrove) underlined the bikes capabilities as they used a pair of Croix de Fers to circumnavigate the 1600-mile coastline of Iceland in 14 days. If you’re a roadie, Genesis has a few models for you to consider. In collaboration with the Insurance Institute for genesis bike Highway Safety, we have rated bike helmets using the STAR evaluation system. Our impact tests evaluate a helmet’s ability to reduce linear acceleration and rotational velocity of the head resulting from a range of head impacts a cyclist might experience. Helmets with more stars provide a reduction in concussion risk for these impacts compared to helmets with less stars.

Adam Blythe rode for the likes of BMC Racing Team, Orica-GreenEdge, Tinkoff and Lotto-Soudal in his cycling career before retiring from racing in 2019. The kind of bikes that make you dream of your next adventure no matter the size. Since 2001 Genesis Bikes have had an eye for the finer details, utilising the very best materials and always heading in their own direction. Genesis build bikes that are simply built to go everywhere with you and do a bit of everything. Take your pick from their range of iconic builds such as the Croix De Fer, Fugio, CDA, Vapour, Datum & more. Versatility still pervades the frame, with downtube bottle bosses and mounts for a rear rack and mudguards. Although this bike can take on the commuting duties or a bit of cycle-touring, it is more suited to lively riding in the woods and on bridleways.

So many models are offered that it can be hard to choose exactly which bike is best for you. We’ve split this guide up into four large sections; road bikes, adventure bikes, cyclocross bikes, and utility bikes, detailing each of the bikes in the range and how they differ from the others. If you’re a dyed in the wool roadie or complete ‘cross-head, you can jump straight to the section that interests you most. Spanning the pro-level race-ready Zero Team (£4500) to the Zero.1 (£1300), an ideal first carbon bike for burgeoning roadies, the line-up has something for riders of all abilities. For those looking for the most advanced drivetrain coupling in the form of Shimano’s electronic Di2 system along with a surprisingly clean aesthetic, it’s hard to find better value than the Zero.i (£3000). In keeping with Genesis’s core values, the line-up is notably consistent in carbon fiber grade and manufacturing process across models (many companies use lower grade materials and outsourced labor for cheaper frames).

There are mounts for mudguards and a pannier rack, which expands the range of use from just road riding to commuting and even lightweight cycle touring. At the entry-level, the Delta is an aluminium genesis bike frame and carbon fork road bike with endurance geometry that comes with rim brakes and provides a comfortable ride. Prefitted mudguards and more puncture resistant city tyres are such examples.

The first Genesis bike was produced under the Ridgeback brand as the Day One model in 2001. Due to its popularity, Genesis became a label in its own right in 2006. You feel confident handling the bike at any speed because of the reliable brakes. Finally, the Columbia Rd is a beautiful step-through with a low maintenance and practical 8-speed internal hubgear.

We have selected the best repair and service providers in the USA. You can expect the best customer service, the best mechanics, and transparent pricing – all this from businesses that want to serve your cycling needs. The Genesis Datum is another versatile bike that could serve as a gravel-cruncher or mile-muncher, depending on the tyres you choose to run. There’s also a women’s-specific version of the Datum, as well as a frameset so you can build your own. Moving into the racier end of the spectrum, the Zero and Zero Disc are full-carbon road bikes with aggressive geometry. As the price increases, so does the level of tech, with Di2 included in the top-end model.

A rim brake version is available in addition to the disc option and both come with Shimano Ultegra 2×11 groupsets. The maximum tyre size on bike is 28c, typical for rim brake set ups but relatively narrow for a bike with discs. But for races that are solely on roads, this should be more than adequate.

None of these things alone would be an issue but add them up and they mean you have to push hard to get the bike really moving. You get out what you put in though and once up to speed the bike is a different animal. The adjustable Revelation forks up front give you the option to wind down the travel to sharpen up the handling through singletrack and help you up the steep stuff, turning the Alpitude into a true all mountain steed. Steep technical drops are taken in its stride and on fast smooth downs the Alpitude feels stable so long as you stay out of the saddle. Genesis give their geometry figures with the bike at 25% sag, so you can take just over a degree off the stated numbers to give you the figures of the bike unweighted.

Some adventures are about taking your time and drinking in your surroundings, others are about getting there fast. This bike is designed for lightweight bike-packing, able to tackle ultra-distances on mixed terrain. Despite being already expansive, the Genesis Bikes brand continues to grow, with the British company striking out even further to the gravel/adventure cross market.
