Over the years, Schwinn has empowered millions of people, earning a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of riders. We have spent over a century building the bicycle industry into what it is today, and we’re not done yet. Electric bikes put schwinn beach cruiser extra power behind every pedal so you can ride farther, take on bigger hills, and enjoy cycling more than ever before. Unfortunately, Schwinn doesn’t outfit the Monroe 250 with any accessories you’d typically want for commuting, such as fenders or racks.
We’ve also put together a guide for new electric bike riders that details each step you should take before you ride. If you’re over 6′, you probably already know that less than 15 percent of the American population is as tall as you. You also know first-hand how difficult it is to find pants, a comfortable bed or a bike. But don’t worry, The Coston CE is the best electric bike for tall riders. Keep in mind that e-bikes are built for all different types of riders, from casual cruisers to high-octane adventurers.
The rear hub motor offers assist levels of 0-5, with 0 being no assist and 5 being the maximum assist. Of course, I wanted to try the assist, and when I did, I found that I never needed more than level 1 to roll at a comfortable trail speed. The Coston CE’s battery is a bit smaller, whereas the 250W motor is just as powerful as the other Schwinn e-bikes.
With mustache-style handlebars, this bicycle is quite ergonomic. It runs for up to 45 miles before requiring recharging and charges fully in about 4 hours. A display on the handlebar showcases the power modes and battery info.
The only big differences come in the form of smaller wheels and a slightly smaller range. The battery locks in under the frame of the bike, and the front wheel/fender tended to get in the way when removing or reinstalling the battery. One feature I liked was a secondary tab you need to retract to remove the battery. That way, when you unlock the battery it doesn’t just fall out.
It was then that Arnold, Schwinn & Company realized the need to branch into other markets and started producing motorcycles along with bicycles. The Schwinn Bicycle Company is one of the oldest bike manufacturers in North America. Fortunately for the founders, this time coincided well with a bicycle boom in the United States.
It’s basically the Goldilocks option, offering enough performance and functionality for everyday commuters without pushing the price too high. Whether your route to school is on the sidewalk, path, or street, Schwinn kids’ bikes are the perfect way to pedal into a new school year. The only hitch I encountered was when installing the front fender.
The Schwinn Coston DX is a Class 2 e-bike, which means that it has a throttle that is capable of reaching up to 20 mph without pedaling. Its motor is hub-mounted, and it has a 360-watt-hour battery. Instead of a front suspension, the schwinn ebike Coston DX has a 27.5” Alloy rigid fork, creating a stiffer ride but with better speed and power transfer. Components are MicroShift 7-speed shifters, KMC chain, and JAK 7 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm front and rear rotors.
The e-bike is equipped with a headlight and taillight for riding safely at night. We like the full-coverage fenders on this model, which protect the rider from mud. The bike has five different levels of pedal assistance, allowing simple customization. This model features an LCD on the handlebar, showcasing the speed and battery status. It has an excellent gloss blue color scheme that offers aesthetic appeal. Each frame is available in step-through form and includes wide tires, integrated lights, upright positioning, and a powerful motor.
On the other hand, in the time I’ve had an e-bike, I have barely touched my poor Trek bike. E-biking is very powerful and addictive, and it has ruined traditional cycling for me, and I can’t decide if that’s a good thing. So, while my doctor, my therapist, and I all unpack that, this is my full review of the Coston CE e-bike from Schwinn. What makes me excited schwinn beach cruiser about the bike is the possibilities that it opens up, but like a lot of aspects of this bike, it’s something of a double-edged sword. Electric bikes are a ton of fun and I’ve had a great time this summer riding them. As an avid cyclist who commuted to and from the train for years in the past, I see e-bikes as a very reasonable step forward in commuting.
