Coston CE Electric Bike eBike 7 Speed Modes

I’m talking Twin Peaks in San Francisco and riding the rim of Lake Tahoe. It has a nice twist throttle to make starts easy and variable power settings so it isn’t always all power all the time. On flat terrain it isn’t necessary to use power as it has a 7 speed Shimano. The regular price is amazing mongoose excursion but when it’s on sale it’s outrageous that I got all this for less than $1000! But there’re downsides to all e-bikes, whether it’s cost prohibitive or the tires are hard to replace. It’s “downsides”, if you’re an avid off-roader, is that it isn’t designed for challenging off-road rides.

It’s basically the Goldilocks option, offering enough performance and functionality for everyday commuters without pushing the price too high. We’ve addressed those concerns by designing Extended Life Batteries for a couple of our best-selling e-bikes. From our humble beginning in 1895 to now, quality has been Schwinn’s “North Star”.

Its combination of Class 3 speed, step-thru and traditional frame designs as well as an off-road configuration makes it ideal for high performance on a budget. What we really appreciated with the Abound is it gives you more out of the box than most cargo e-bikes. When shopping in this frame style, one almost automatically expects a few ‘add item to cart’ accessories to fully take advantage of a cargo bike. It could be pannier bags, passenger cushions or more. But Aventon does equip the Abound with more than most with the standard runner boards, storage compartment, and quick-adjust seatpost that offers a little suspension for the rider. The Aventon Abound is one heck of a well spec’d machine, with uncommon good looks in the cargo e-bike style.

The mountain bike shape makes it easy to ride on rough trails as well. The balance with the the battery takes a bit schwinn mountain bicycles to get used to but then it’s all fun anywhere you go. The Marshall ebike has a throttle and 5 pedal assist levels.

I wonder if you have a 500w motor wouldn’t you need a 500w battery? I find also for the first month I had it and I mostly use the peddle assist and only use the throttle when crossing streets. I live in Florida so mostly everything is flat no hills. Yet, I am noticing lately my battery draining by one bar after only 5 miles usage. Another problem is condensation gets in the display module during hot humid days but, it eventually burns off. Overall operation runs fine and on peddle assist I can run it up to almost 28 mph however, it doesn’t take long until the battery starts losing its charge by a few bars.

The Marshall looks like a mountain bike with a comfy cruiser feel to it. A step-thru version offers a slightly lower top bar than the regular version. We tested the Marshall electric bike on pavement, gravel and dirt to see how Schwinn’s new models stack up against the growing number of ebike options.

You shouldn’t ride this bike at night without some other source of lighting. Or, at least, replace the generator with a small battery pack. You have to turn the switch on first, then turn on the bike from the handlebars. I suspect this is designed to reduce battery drain when idle, but it doesn’t really work. There’s not a great spot for the wheel lock key, though you can sort of wedge it into the frame if you try. In any case, it’s one of the better stock seats I’ve seen on an electric bike so far.

But once in the saddle, I found the fit to be correct. I am 5’7″ and the bike fit me fine with the seat post in the lowest position, so it’s likely riders slightly taller could also use this size. I had my 5’3″ daughter try the bike, and she found it too tall for her. The lithium ion battery pack weighs 6 pounds and is about 15 inches long by 6 inches wide.

I’ve been using an electric bike and a shoulder bag for most of my shopping “can you grab me XYZ from Target” runs. Speaking of which, check out my video below to see the bike’s performance and features in action, including those cool frame lights. Over the years, Schwinn has empowered millions of people, earning a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of riders. We have spent over a century schwinn mountain bicycles building the bicycle industry into what it is today, and we’re not done yet. Electric bikes put extra power behind every pedal so you can ride farther, take on bigger hills, and enjoy cycling more than ever before. Finally, if an electric bike comes with an app — as is becoming increasingly common— we’ll test it out too, to see how easy it is to use, and how well it works with the bike itself.
