The perfect choice for riders who are looking for a comfortable, and efficient ride. Crafted with a step-thru aluminum frame, this bike is lightweight and easy to mount and dismount. The removable semi-integrated battery ensures that you can charge your bike wherever and whenever you need to, and it’s lockable with a key to prevent theft. The 8-speed drivetrain provides a plenty of gearing range for hilly terrain, and the trigger shifter is easy to use. The front and rear mechanical disc brakes offer powerful and reliable stopping power, in all weather conditions. 700 x 40c hybrid tires offer a comfortable and stable ride, while the alloy adjustable stem and quick release adjustable saddle allow for a customized fit.

The new bikes and scooters will be an advantage for students with long treks across campus said sophomore architecture major Shane Harris. If there’s one thing worse than running out of battery before you’re home, it’s surely your young child’s kent road bike heavy e-bike running out of battery before you’re home. Kent reckon the battery is good for 15 miles of range, but that will obviously depend on terrain and power usage. The bikes were a wonderful way to get around even if you are not that fit.

With the electric bikes, it makes for a really great day trip from London (1hr on the train from Charing Cross and 45mins on the bike to Sissinghurst). Walmart has long offered an interesting array of low-cost electric bicycles. Some of the bikes have even dipped down into ultra-budget territory with prices below $400. It can be a good option for those that want the utility of an electric bicycle but don’t have a lot of spare cash. But while Walmart is known for its super cheap e-bikes, the company has never offered higher-end e-bikes with nicer features like mid-drive motors.

For starters, they have the KZR which is their top-of-the-line model. Mid-drive motors, on the other hand, are more costly to produce due to their more complicated design. That complication also makes them a bit more touchy, at least for new riders that aren’t used to shifting a bike. Because its battery is mounted underneath its rear rack, SixThreeZero Around the Block e-cruiser has more of that classic beach cruiser look. Kent currently offers three electric models for adults, plus one for kids. Alongside the 27-inch Kent Electric and Kent Step-Through Electric, the Cruiser is more of a unisex offering and is available exclusively from Walmart.

That isn’t a bad thing, as many riders (including myself) have been very happy with lower-cost mid-drive motors. I have a Truckrun motor on my daily rider city e-bike, and it works wonderfully. Cheaper mid-drive electric bikes tend to opt for Chinese-made mid-drive motors like those from Bafang, Truckrun, Tongsheng, and others.

The Electric Cruiser offers three levels of electric assist, with a maximum boost of 20 mph. A very basic LED display indicates battery and power-assist levels but doesn’t include a speedometer or mileage counter. The Kent Torpedo kid’s electric bike is an excellent pick if you want something economical yet top-notch for your little ones. With its 180W motor, 6-speed gearing, and LED display, your kids can enjoy a smooth and tailored ride. On my test ride, I chose a 5-mile path that alternated between asphalt and gravel. On the gravelly bits, the ebike performed well, kicking in enough power to keep the momentum going on the climbs and cutting off on the downhills.

In the case of Kent’s mid-drive electric bike, seen above, it’s not clear exactly which 250W motor is used. Nicer (i.e., more expensive) e-bikes tend to use fancier mid-drive motors like those made by Brose, Bosch, Yamaha, and other major German or Japanese manufacturers. The 10.4-amp hour battery promises around 1 hour 20 minutes of run time, or around 25 miles, using the electric assist at varying levels over the course of the ride. Every bike is given a safety check and any non-functioning parts are replaced. It is often the luck of the draw to find a proper size bicycle in the style you want. Kent Cycle will not hold a used bicycle without at least a 50% deposit.

The Kids Trade Up Program includes all NEW 12″, 16″, 20″ and 24″ kid’s bikes in addition to the first adult bike. The showroom is open from 9 am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 2pm on Saturdays. We can also arrange onsite demos in the Kent area if you cannot make it down to us.
