Front and rear fenders and a rear rack come standard on the Electric Cruiser, which was a bit of a surprise, given its relatively low price. Most of the people buying this bike will love the wide, padded saddle and upright ride position, but adjusting the saddle angle was next to impossible. If you’re looking for an inexpensive ebike for casual weekend rides, the Kent Electric Cruiser demands consideration.

Kent reckon the battery is good for 15 miles of range, but that will obviously depend on terrain and power usage. The bikes were a wonderful way to get around even if you are not that fit.
The Stay at the Forest Edge is the perfect location for mountain biking at Bedgebury Pinetum. Making trips to downtown Kent will be more accessible for students– as well as trips to grocery stores and other shopping locations within SPIN’s GeoZone. Within the zone, there are a few no-riding zones, however, those areas are either parking lots or places with high traffic. After a few companies reached out to Kent State, the department of recreational services formed a committee to consider the options. Students and community members around Kent’s campus will have a new way to get around starting March 7. That isn’t a bad thing, as many riders (including myself) have been very happy with lower-cost mid-drive motors. I have a Truckrun motor on my daily rider city e-bike, and it works wonderfully. Cheaper mid-drive electric bikes tend to opt for Chinese-made mid-drive motors like those from Bafang, Truckrun, Tongsheng, and others.
With the electric bikes, it makes for a really great day trip from London (1hr on the train from Charing Cross and 45mins on the bike to Sissinghurst). Walmart has long offered an interesting array of low-cost electric bicycles. Some of the bikes have even dipped down into ultra-budget territory with prices below $400. It can be a good option for those that want the utility of an electric bicycle but don’t have a lot of spare cash. But while Walmart is known for its super cheap e-bikes, the company has never offered higher-end e-bikes with nicer features like mid-drive motors.
There are some big hills which would have been a nightmare on ordinary bikes. The sense of freedom was wonderful and it was one of the best days out this year. Having not ridden Kent’s new e-bike (yet, but hopefully that changes), it’s hard for me to judge it too hard on the spec sheet alone. But for the $1,498 price, it’s at least an interesting addition to a slew of Walmart e-bikes that so far haven’t taken a shot at such higher-end (or perhaps even midlevel) markets. Speaking of steps, the step-thru frame comes in only one size but should fit most riders five feet and taller.
