The stitching especially around the doors and windows don’t seem that well done either, and I found a lot of excess threads as well. I don’t think this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent will do very well against strong winds. The rainfly has to be in place, so the ceiling mesh will be covered.
But with so much mesh on the ceiling, I would not use this tent in a cold climate. There’s no dark room technology though, and it’s quite bright throughout the day. This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has only 2 pockets in the entire tent, and both measure about 13 inches in length and 6 inches in width, which is very tiny for such a huge tent. Every single time I open this door, the zipper will snag at least once, sometimes twice, which can be annoying.
Yes, we all want a big spacious tent with room for plush sleeping quarters, but we also recommend looking for the little features that can elevate your camping experience. Interior storage is a great example, as all those little mesh pockets help keep things organized and off the floor. Screen rooms, shade awnings, storage vestibules, and privacy dividers are also great examples of livability-added features. These features all work together to make a tent feel more like your home away from home and less like a makeshift shelter in the woods. Large dome tents are also an option, and although they’re a little less flashy, they have some perks of their own.
