Ozark Trail Camping Canopies & Shelters for sale

I’ve had great luck with the Ozark chairs, sleeping pads, and other basic camping items. These products ozark trail screen house are overpriced at name brand stores like REI. You are paying for marketing, not quality.

Again, I AM a soldier with nearly 30 years experience in putting tents together. This Ozark Trail tent is, sorry to say this, a POS. Do not, DO NOT, spend your money on this. This piece of crap promises the buyer a lot for a lot of money, but what you get is something of lesser quality than if you bought a tent from the local Dollar store. Overall this is a wonderful tent that has held up well to many years of family camping.

It’s often raining and it seems like this will also make a great shelter out of the rain. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it beats sitting in the actual rain trying to control an umbrella. You unfold all the poles and make sure to extend them out. Extending them was the part that took us a bit to figure out. Once we understood that the poles retracted, it popped right up!

The bear was only checking us out really. I need a break from the Pacific NW clouds and rain sometimes. I go out to the rural part of the state where it is hot and dry.

The Ozark Trail tent I purchased is model HKD 08055R. I have a design change suggestion but I do not see an email address anywhere; therefore I cannot submit it to someone who can do something about it. My other complaint was the height of the structure. Why not add a little extra height to make it more comfortable? This wasn’t the end of the world, but something I will consider with my next sun shield purchase. Be sure to check out our YouTube channel!

If used heavily, I can not see this product making it through a full camping or outdoor season. Did you know the product is coated with UPF 50+ protection? Also, there is a hidden pocket to discretely store valuables. This is an excellent addition for soccer games or day at the beach.

I watersealed the seams, as per the instruction sheet inside the carrying bag but I have not been rained on yet. The Ozark Trail 8×8 Instant Sun Shade did exactly what we needed it to. It kept us out of the sun when we didn’t want to be in it.

The legs are locked into place with old school metal push button locks, something you won’t see on many modern pop up tents now-a-days. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The legs extend to give the top peak a height of about 8’10” which will be plenty of headroom for anyone underneath. The bad news is the rain leaks, the “GoBeDry” rain protection system just does not work.

We took it out of bag carrier it came in, and were able to get it assembled in about 5 minutes. The box says 30 seconds, which will be true every subsequent time we now set it up. I really like the height and room of this tent. The extra pockets that just out with a zipper are a nice addition. I got this tent for summer and fall; so far it has been great, the size is the best part.
