Marshall Electric Bike eBike 7 Speed Modes

The battery locks in under the frame of the bike, and the front wheel/fender tended to get in the way when removing or reinstalling the battery. One feature I liked was a secondary tab you need to retract to remove the battery. That way, when you unlock the battery it doesn’t just fall out. Some thought was put into the idea there and I appreciated it. If you’re using an e-bike to commute or run errands, or if it’s a particularly hot day, the throttle might be a better way to go.

If you’re looking for a great all-around e-bike that can do a little bit of everything, check out our Coston and Marshall e-bikes. Most of our e-bikes are available with both stand-over schwinn mountain bicycles and step-thru frames, so you can pick the right frame style for you. Many e-bikes also include extra features like integrated lights, storage, fenders, rear racks, and more.

The features like the neat integrated lighting are rarely seen in the industry and are a definite win. And the build quality feels like it should stand the test of time. Schwinn e-bikes are available for purchase right here on the Schwinn website! Schwinn e-bikes are also available through Dick’s Sporting Goods, where select models are available for an in-store test ride. The pictures you are seeing on the product page are the pictures of the exact bike you will receive if you purchase it.

The battery meter is comprised of five segments to give you an estimate of how much power you have left. Before we get into the e-bike itself, I want to take a moment to talk about e-bike ownership and what it has meant for me. I mentioned the shunning of my trusty Trek bike in lieu of my e-bikes this summer, but the reason for that has been life-changing for me. I’ve been using an electric bike and a shoulder bag for most of my shopping “can you grab me XYZ from Target” runs.

You can plug the battery in while it’s inside the bike, or you can use an included key to remove the battery from the bike for charging. The controller is easy to use with one thumb, which is nice. One thing I miss from previous e-bikes I’ve had was a range estimator that gave you an idea as to how much further you could ride at your present power level under present conditions.

You can even add your own extras with our selection of e-bike accessories, including water-resistant pannier bags and heavy-duty e-bike locks. So, no matter how you like to ride, there’s an e-bike for you. For more information, check out our blog post on e-bike styles. Visit friends or explore downtown with the Schwinn Marshall E-Bike. The 250-watt electric motor offers 7 different levels of powered drive or pedal assist, selected using the LCD screen and achieving speeds up to 20 miles per hour. Aluminum frame and wheel rims deliver lightweight durability while an integrated LED headlight illuminates the road for nighttime rides.

The front suspension fork pairs nicely with the seat post shock and the ergonomic grips, swept back handlebars and adjustable stem keep your hands and arms comfortable. Even though this bike uses a relatively weak motor, it rides well and keeps the overall weight down. It’s also very balanced because the battery pack (while high up) is in the back and the motor is in the front. You’ll need to consider the type of terrain and style of riding you prefer, as well as how far you want to ride before recharging the battery. For example the Healy Ridge and Ridgewood e-bikes are great for trails and other off-road rides, whereas the Mendocino is perfect for casual cruising around the neighborhood.

7-speed twist shifters offer smooth gear changes, mechanical disc brakes deliver all weather stopping power, and the alloy frame provides lightweight durability. Powering this bike is a 26.6 volt 10 amp hour battery pack that uses Lithium Polymer cells. For the time period it was released, this was a pretty awesome battery and that shines true today with bikes still on the road. Lithium is known for being light weight and since this pack is also relatively small at 266 watts vs. 360 or so, it helps to keep the overall weight of the bike down.

7-speed drivetrain with trigger shifter lets you adapt to your terrain with ease, while mechanical disc brakes deliver all weather stopping power. Longer distances and steep hills are no problem when you have a pedal assist motor and throttle to add a little extra oomph to your ride. Select Schwinn e-bikes include a headlight and taillight to help you see and be seen during low-light rides. The Coston and Marshall e-bikes also have lights along the battery for additional visibility and a sleek, modern look. That means the motor is located on the rear hub and works by spinning the back wheel.

This creates the feeling of being pushed – it’s that extra boost of energy e-bikes are famous for. Battery range and top speed can vary depending on rider height and weight, and riding conditions like hills or wind. Speaking of trails, I found that the Schwinn EC1 is great for more than just nice bike lanes and smooth sidewalks. The decently large tires also make it a fun bike for nature trails and gravel paths. I wouldn’t want to take it off any jumps due to the lack of suspension, but it’s not really meant for that, either.
