The Shimano Tourney shifter, mechanical disc brakes, and plushy spring saddle are enough for me. I’ve seen this level of components on electric cruisers that cost nearly twice as much. The Coston e-bike comes with a typical brick-on-a-string charger that plugs into a normal 110v outlet. You can plug the battery in while it’s inside the bike, or you can use an included key to remove the battery from the bike for charging. One thing I miss from previous e-bikes I’ve had was a range estimator that gave you an idea as to how much further you could ride at your present power level under present conditions. Such a feature is fairly inaccurate all things considered, but some estimate is better than no estimate.
To sum up, many of the Schwinn electric bikes include accessories and features that are worth hundreds of dollars, and the Mendocino electric cruiser bike is quite a rare find. For comfortable and affordable e-bikes, go with one of the four Schwinn electric bikes. A nice addition might have been estimated remaining mileage, speedometer, etc, but perhaps Schwinn will consider those options on later models. Go up to 45 miles on a single charge, depending on conditions with the 313-watt hour rack mounted battery. Recharge in 4 hours with a standard household outlet and included charging cable. After a basic tutorial of how the bike works (I’d read the material online in the past), they suggested going around the block or across the street to Piedmont Park for a test drive.
