In order to assess overall performance, we opted to test a handful of different debris. These include cornflakes, glitter and real human hair (yes—really!). We tested each on tile, high- and low-pile carpet (aside from hair, which was only tested on carpet).
Weighing just 1.4 lbs., it boasts a tapered nozzle for easy debris pickup and seamless maneuverability, making it perfect for quick cleans! The crevice tool is designed to tackle tight spaces in cars, corners, and crevices, while the pet tool allows you to easily clean pet hair from delicate fabrics and upholstery. The shark stick vacuum Shark UltraCyclone™ Pet Pro is designed for powerful suction and long-lasting motor life. Enjoy exceptional power and performance with a motorized, detachable Pet Power Brush to eliminate pet hair on floors and upholstery. The Wandvac, when fitted with a nozzle accessory, has the suction to rival my Shop-Vac. The floor nozzle is there to help you comfortably glide it across the floor. Get into the habit of recharging your hand vac after every use. Each model has an indicator light that lets you know when the battery is fully charged and ready to go. This handheld-stick vacuum is a great choice for small households.
The versatile BLACK+DECKER™ 16-volt MAX dustbuster® AdvancedClean+™ Cordless Hand Vacuum cleans hard to reach areas with less effort. 4X more powerful suction (vs BLACK+DECKER HNV115 4V MAX based on ASTM F558) and Powerboost with the touch of a button shark pet vacuum to tackle any mess. The XL 750 mL dust bin, up to 125% more runtime (vs BLACK+DECKER HNV115 4V MAX) and a battery indicator to keep you moving. Go The Extra Length with the BLACK+DECKER™ 16-volt MAX dustbuster® AdvancedClean+™ Cordless Hand Vacuum.
The Black+Decker dustbuster Hand Vacuum and the Shark WANDVAC have different strengths. The Black+Decker is better on bare floors, has a much larger dirt compartment, and has a longer continuous runtime. Conversely, the Shark does a better job capturing fine allergens, has virtually no recurring costs, is smaller and lighter, and performs better on low-pile carpet. The Shark WANDVAC and BISSELL Featherweight Stick are suited for different tasks. The Shark is better for spot cleaning as its cordless handheld design allows you to navigate tight spaces more easily.
Think about how, when, and where you’d like to use the vacuum. Then, examine the important features offered by Shark to determine which product is right for you. If you don’t own pets and need a hand vac only for the occasional spilled Cheerios or coffee grounds, buy the Black+Decker Dustbuster AdvancedClean CHV1410L. We’ve recommended the CHV1410L since 2017, and in our most recent round of testing, it proved once again to be one of the best basic handheld vacuums available—with a few caveats.
The Shark Wandvac is the lightest and slimmest cordless car vacuum I’ve found on the market. The short battery life and small dust bin doesn’t bother me, since it’s not meant to be a replacement shark pet vacuum for a professional car vacuum or a shop-vac. It’s pricier than larger, slightly longer-lasting car vacuums, but its combination of portability and raw power is hard to beat.
The ability of the unit to clean hard-to-reach tight spaces. Looking at each vacuum’s performance, we then decided if its worth the price, which determined its value rating. From there, we looked at the total scores of each and picked the best options for this piece. To begin, we looked at what arrives in the box and the condition of the packaging. From there, we took note of assembly time and observed the time it takes to charge each battery. Then, we looked at the weight of each vacuum and the decibels of each while running on different modes.
