This was Braun’s most successful and acclaimed family of electric shavers (introduced in 2007) and it was discontinued somewhere between 2020 and 2021. Precisely, any Series 6 model, be it an s, cs, or cc, will work with a compatible cleaning station. As with most Braun shaving heads, you should expect to replace them every 18 months but again that can vary a lot. Only a cc Series 3 ProSkin shaver will be compatible with a cleaning station. A ProSkin shaver is however objectively better than a basic Series 3 because of the larger battery and the superior shaving head.
For first-time shavers or those with sensitive skin, razors by Schick and Venus are gentle enough to help prevent razor burn or nicks, while still effectively removing unwanted hair. If you don’t want to use the traditional razor-and-shave-gel combination, the hair removal device by Silk’n® uses light-based technology to effectively eliminate hair. This professional product safely and quickly braun electric shavers makes legs hair-free and smooth, without having to worry about cuts and razor burn. If you buy a high-quality razor—think a $200 model and above from any of our recommendations—then it’s possible to get several years out of your device. If you neglect to clean your electric shaver, you risk the chance of shortening the razor’s lifespan and also running dirt across your face when shaving.
The Series 9 is longer, has more girth, and is more top-heavy, all due to its quadruple-headed shaving mechanism. While the Series 7 is powerful enough for most shaving situations, Braun’s Series 9 is the top-performing shaver we’ve tried that we find worth the additional expense—at least for certain situations. If you have particularly curly or coarse hair, or if you wish to shave less frequently but achieve the same level of closeness, this may be the shaver for you. We had the testers keep the top-performing razors for extended periods to allow for break-in time. Braun’s top-of-the-line electric razor offers the best shave—even for heavy beards—at a higher price.
The visual similarities are obvious, the shavers look and feel the same and the shaving performance is really close. And in all honesty, that’s really all the flexing you need from a foil electric shaver. The Series 6 family of electric razors debuted alongside the Series 5 50 above and as we’ll see, it is extremely similar in many regards. It is similar to the Series 3 ProSkin 32b shaving head, and I actually prefer the Series 3 head since it’s the slimmest 3-blade head I’ve ever used and a lot nimbler and easier to use. Also, just like with other shavers in a Braun series, there are country-specific models you won’t find mentioned in this guide. Some even came with a more advanced station that would check the hygiene status of the shaver and choose an appropriate cleaning program (like the 5090cc).
This electric shaver’s durable design is made in Germany and built to last. With a long-lasting Li-Ion battery, now up to 18% longer with Gentle Mode. At the touch of a button, the 5-in-1 SmartCare Center intelligently selects the necessary cleaning program, automatically charges and hygienically cleans, lubricates and dries your shaver. Gently lift and cut even the toughest hairs on your 1-, 3-, or 7-day beard with our powerful ProLift trimmer.
Just rinse your razor under water to remove hair and dirt, then take a light brush to your foil to remove any gunk buildup. It’s important to maintain the foil on your razor, as that is what helps give you a nice and even shave. That foil is fragile and, if it gets dented or damaged, make sure to replace it immediately as that piece is the proverbial bread and butter to your shave. Most electric razors can shave a full beard in half the time (or less) it takes to shave the traditional way (again, a big part of this is the lack of other products).
The Series 9 Pro/Series 9 PRO+ is slightly more powerful (it even sounds a bit louder), it’s grabbier and slightly more aggressive. You can check out my Series 9 Pro review and Series 9 PRO+ review where I address these differences in great detail, but here’s a quick summary that should help you choose between them if you’re on the fence. Likewise, all Series 9 94xx Pro and braun shavers 95xx PRO+ will shave exactly the same. That also includes the so-called Sport models like the 9310cc which often caused some confusion. But if you happen to own an older Series 9 model, like the original 90xx or the 92xx, pretty much everything mentioned here will still be relevant. Until that point, the old Series 7 was Braun’s most advanced and most expensive shaver.
