The Mongoose brand of bicycles focuses on two product lines for consumers. The most popular line comprises discount bikes offered in department stores, while higher-end mongoose bicycles can be found on the Mongoose website or in specialty bicycle shops. Mongoose bicycles have at times been criticized for poor reliability and construction, however, many of these issues can be attributed to how and where the bicycles are used by their owners. The Mongoose Deception is a mountain bike that comes with an assortment of features, such as a frame composed of aluminum and front SRAM grip shifters. The front fork of this bike has a shock absorber that creates stability by reducing some of the quakes when you encounter an uneven trail. If you want to change speeds during your ride, you have 21 different gears to choose from.

A far-superior Mongoose line can be found on the official Mongoose website. These bicycles, which comprise specific models for BMX, mountain and urban biking, are offered with better-made frames and higher-level components. They are also much more expensive than the department-store Mongoose bicycles. If used properly, the department store line of Mongoose bicycles can hold up very well. While these models may not offer the best components or stiffest frames, whether for on or off-road riding, it should be understood that the department-store Mongoose bicycles are not made for performance-oriented rides. Instead, particularly for their price point, Mongoose’s department-store bikes are built for simple on-road commutes such as to school, work or the store.
Most Mongoose single-speed bikes, such as the Mongoose 700C or the 20-inch Mongoose Brawler Freestyle, are urban/road bikes. The other style of s are those low-end, mass-produced bikes which are distributed by major chain-stores at discount prices. Since Mongoose only offered these bikes in the continental USA they have been working hard to find a way for people in Canada, Alaska/Hawaii, Mexico, UK, ect, to get their hands on them and that’s where we come in. Obviously, the cost to ship to these states/countries isn’t cheap, but these bikes are affordably priced even with the cost to ship to these locations. Whether shop here at Albe’s BMX or at , we’re just stoked to help get these beauties to hardcore ‘Goose fans anywhere in the world.
