With the price of batteries dropping, engineers may be head-on finding ways to make hydrogen less expensive as a green fuel, a factor some users may weigh in if they should go for hydrogen-fueled vehicles. The use of hydrogen in vehicles, such as BMW’s iX5 Hydrogen car, may be surfacing these days more than before as the automotive industry attempts to go green or employ green energy. They may be seen as rivals of electric vehicles, and fairly so, given that both have their own pros and cons.
Lithium-ion batteries can experience performance issues once they get to a state of having no charge, so a quick charge every so often will keep your battery healthy long term. Out of the box the manufacturer recommends that you charge the Ebike for a minimum of 4 hours before use, which I started before assembling the bike. True to the manual, after the 4 hour charge time was complete, I was ready to roll with full power available to me. I’d say that you can comfortably expect the ride time of your hyper Ebike to live up to the manufacturers description. Hyper states that the MTB Ebike has a battery life of 1 hour or 20 miles and I tested this out to see how my bike fared in the wild.
After Morgan’s Rocky Mountain Element C70 review, my interest in the brand’s new offering in 2024, the Instinct, was piqued. I wanted to test my devotion to metal bikes while checking out a flagship trail bike from a brand like Rocky Mountain. Its team puts a lot of thought into its bikes’ pedalability and prowess on rugged terrain.
It’s weird that beautiful women spend their hard earned money on being gorgeous hillside to spectate proudly & videographers just leave them out of the footage these days. I can’t imagine spend time, money & fashionable get ups to go out to be appreciated and all these dudes with cameras…just filming hyper mountain bike men in spandex onesies all day. I found myself paying less attention to the acute terrain while descending and finding flow within the expansive plane of subconsciousness. Riding familiar terrain, where you know each line, each cut, enables you to let go and simply rely on your instincts.
But I was shocked to see the seat tube angle at 76.5º when I was sure it had to be at least 78º. I was confirmed in my head tube angle assessment of 63.5º, which I “felt” was around 64º after a few rides. With a wave of a magic wand, Rocky Mountain engineered the same head and seat angles, rear center, and bottom bracket drop across all sizes of the Instinct (29er).
I ride this bike almost every day and the battery has not given out on me so far. I have used this bike to help round up my neighbors cows from the orange groves when ever they decide to take a tour. I am very satisfied with this bike and I recommend it to anyone who likes to ride a bike without all the hassles of having to do all the peddling yourself. There is a dedicated regen brake to slow the motor down, which recharges the battery at the same time. In the end, I chalked this up to why the Instinct descended so planted and smoothly and was able to lock the rear shock out on climbs to all but eliminate pedal strike.
The Race Edition is everything as the 2.0 Version plus more. A more powerful 15kw motor and 18 mosfet controller. A more sleek rear swing arm pushing the rear motor housing up by 6″. A true performance bike. The E-Clipse 2.0 features a cutting-edge powertrain with a sinewave controller, providing smooth power delivery at a peak output of 400A and a continuous output of 120A. This enables precise control of the 10000W peak output motor, known for its high power density & precise control.
After trying it out at 450 mm, I liked the shorter rear end for our terrain more. I think it’s also why people get addicted to ultra-racing and eke themselves to the edge of the hyper bike human experience. These efforts teach us more about ourselves and the reality we inhabit for this brief moment; a falling leaf on a windy day is but a blink within epochs.
As a 6’2″, 190 lb human with long arms and an 81 cm saddle height, I fell right into the size XL without any hesitation. My “extension” fit number – from the tip of the saddle to the bar clamp at the stem – is 55 cm unsagged when set up for riding. The Instinct utilizes RIDE-4 with POS.1 through POS.4 adjustment, with POS.1 being slack and POS.4 being steep, slightly altering the bike’s geometry. For simplicity’s sake, I primarily rode the bike in POS.1, after experimenting with the other positions, so I’ll be discussing those metrics. I cracked multiple times, walked sections, and pushed onward and upward while stopping to take in the flora and fauna emerging from winter slumbers, sharing in this awakening.
