Ozark Trail 9 Person 2 Room Instant Cabin Tent with Screen Room Reviews

I hope that all the info in this post will allow you to choose the best tent for you, and that it’ll be easier for you to make a choice (I know it’s hard!). It probably won’t fit in your backpack, and it might not even fit in your car. Obviously if you’re planning to camp only in hot & dry areas, disregard this ranking factor. The tent is made of a rugged double thick fabric, that will keep you warm during cold nights.

The fabrics are often thinner and less technical (regular polyester rather than ripstop, etc.), and the poles are pretty much always made from cost-saving materials like fiberglass and thin steel alloy. Yes, we all want a big spacious tent with room for plush sleeping quarters, but we also recommend looking for the little features that can elevate your camping experience. Interior storage is a great example, as all those little mesh pockets help keep things organized and off the floor. Screen rooms, shade awnings, storage vestibules, and privacy dividers are also great examples of livability-added features. These features all work together to make a tent feel more like your home away from home and less like a makeshift shelter in the woods.

Its 10-person version has an impressive peak height of 90 inches, and I couldn’t even reach the top of the tent! (I’m 5’3″, ,by the way.) Another great thing about the Core Cabin Tent is that there are no obvious flaws…. It also has a nice high peak height of 88 inches, plus its side walls are vertical, so it offers a lot of livable space. The carry bag seems to be of okay quality, and it can be made bigger for easier packing up. It wasn’t too difficult to get the tent, poles and all other accessories back into the carry bag.

If you don’t have time to let the fly dry before you pack the Wireless in its duffle, we recommend laying it out when you get home so it doesn’t mildew in storage. Despite having the smallest capacity of the tents we tested—42.5 square feet—the Mineral King 3 easily fits two people with a full-size mattress, or two sleeping pads, and gear. Two large vestibules add nearly 40 square feet combined—that ozark trail shower tent is, 18.75 square feet on either side. After our longtime top-pick tent for two people ran into some stock issues in 2021, we researched new models and redesigns, and we assembled a batch of small tents for testing in March 2022, on Oahu. During this period, winds rose up to 35 to 40 knots, and we experienced passing showers as well as direct sunlight and 80-degree temperatures.

This Ozark Trail 6 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Light is fully freestanding with a steel frame and three windows. With its 60 seconds setup time it is very suitable for users who change the place frequently, and it is at a price that is hard to match. I have read many reviews about how happy people are with this cabin having  no leaks or wind gust problems. BUT for myself, I am disappointed to have been so thrilled to order this tent with good intentions and ending in a return back to the store.

On top of that, the zippers for the windows are small and feel flimsy, even though they’re SBS zippers. Does the Ozark Trail Dark Rest Cabin tent truly have “innovative dark rest technology”? The three-room cabin is definitely one of Ozark Trail’s more expensive models though, so if you’re shopping on a budget, there are plenty of other models worth considering. The Clip & Camp dome is particularly affordable, and also happens to be one of the most dependable models the brand currently makes. The main thing to know going into an Ozark Trail purchase is that you need to do your due diligence not to overstress the materials because a heavy hand can absolutely damage them.

To mimic heavier rain and to test the tent’s ability to withstand soggy ground conditions, we also soaked our tents with a garden hose. A few weeks later, we brought the front-runners to a platform in an area that had higher elevation, near the Waianae Mountain Range, and camped out overnight in intermittent but consistent rainfall. Its fly extends into a huge front vestibule that can store large items like bikes, or even accommodate a ozark trail shower tent table and chairs. Adults over 6 feet tall will be able to walk upright inside this tent—which has almost-vertical walls that can easily accommodate beds, cribs, and cots—as well as in the vestibule. I highly recommend investing in a slightly better tent for the long term, I can recommend way better dark rest tents or instant camping tents. I’ll link to them here when they’re ready, so that you can find something better for yourself.

Another unique feature that is quite rare among instant set up tents, is the dark room technology that is incorporated in this one, but we will touch more on that later. They just see how many people can lay down inside the tent, taking all space available. Now that we’ve seen the breakdown of all the features that make a great tent, let’s see the pros & cons of each one, in one table so that you can easily make the comparison between the tents at a glance.
