One of our favorite features of this tent is the blackout interior Ozark has designed it with. Great for light sleepers, or those days when you feel like shutting out the world around you, all the windows zip shut to eliminate any light from entering the tent. All of the 8 person tents included in this guide are solid choices, and which one will be the best for you depends on your specific needs. This means sleeping in a camping bag, with almost no space between people, and it might mean sleeping with heads next to feet. The most durable tents out of the 4, but you’ll need to buy better stakes if you camp in windy/rainy areas. Not ideal if you’re planning to go on a backpacking trip where you carry your tent in your bag.
If we had to spend a day in the tent during a storm, would it be comfortable? After first removing the models that failed the structural tests, we slept, watched the stars, and ate our meals in all of the tents, as well as planned hikes from them. There are also 4 elbow joints, which helps to connect some of the poles, and this also make up the instant mechanism. The stitching on this tent isn’t the best, there were quite a few areas of patchwork all around the entire tent, so unfortunately, that’s another con against this tent when it comes to quality.
In any case, I have included this tent in my list of tents with a screen room. The picture below shows how the tent is divided in two parts, the rooms are the same size, around 7 x 10 ft each. As far as fairweather shelters go, however, this one may be the best value in terms of livability for your money. No one wants to be in an outdoor shelter that is structurally compromised when exposed to the elements. Like most instant tents, they use a combination of steel and polyester for the majority of its construction. Steel legs give it a strong frame which excel in protecting you against high winds during inclement weather. Which one you’ll choose will come down to personal preferences & personal needs; you can’t really go wrong with any of these, they are all the best rated & best selling tents in the 8 person instant tents category. Its walls are 75-denier polyester fabric (tougher than the Wireless 6’s 68-denier polyester and the same as the REI Co-op Base Camp’s) that extends about two-thirds up the tent’s sides, and then is topped with mesh.

So, basically, there are 2 more windows up top, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in any other ozark trail shower tent tent so far. The peak height at the center of this Ozark Trail tent is just 65.5 inches, which is right about the marketed peak height of 66 inches. Notice how my beds aren’t exactly the full queen size, yet they fill up the entire tent?
There is also a removable media pocket (shown below), and a large removable organizer with many pockets which you can hang on the wall without windows or just over the ozark trail shower tent window as the picture shows. That’s plenty of room for two queen mattresses with room left over for some chairs, a cooler, and a camp table. Speaking of camp tables Ozark Trail actually includes a small table with this shelter, which mounts at the base of the main support pole to make the most of the tent’s interior space. The table includes four large hanging mesh pockets at its sides, which, along with the multiple pockets found along the walls of the Ozark Trail Yurt, make storage and organization another high point of the tent. Layout wise is virtually identical to the Core Instant Cabin we evaluated for our 10 person tent roundup, but delivers those same massive interior dimensions for about $100 less. Each of the cabin’s three rooms includes its own privacy divider, and each is large enough to fit a queen-sized mattress as well, so it’s a great option for large groups or families. Other perks of the Three Room Instant Cabin include an instant tent design with pre-attached poles for easy set-up and dual ground-level vents designed to work with a tent air conditioner.
You have to add the fly as well, so it is best to have somebody to help you. This is why I have added it to my list of best instant camping tents. Like most tents fit for 3-season trips, you’ll find a lot of mesh openings throughout Ozark trail 12 person tent. The roof is fully screened without the rainfly on, which makes for lovely stargazing at night.
If you’re going on a backpacking trip, then size & weight of the tent are very important; in this case, you’ll probably want to get the regular size. If you want to invest in a good tent that you will be able to use several times for your camping trips, then a good durable tent is what you’re looking for. With 7 mesh windows and a full mesh roof, the Ozark trail has great ventilation. It has a full mesh roof, and huge mesh windows, perfect for ventilation during those hot nights.
