The poles broke the first night on top caving the tent in. I feel bad that so many of you are having trouble with this tent. I have not had any trouble at all but we did lose the rain fly to ours (well, our son lost it!). I cant find replecement parts for this ozark trail chair tent anywhere…only the poles (which I now understand after reading all the problems you all have had with the poles…maybe mine will go soon as well!. I just purchased this tent less than a week ago from Walmart to take a few days off to go fishing.
Like the Mineral King 3, the Tungsten 4 has a mesh canopy, though the opaque polyester part of its walls go higher, and provide more privacy, than the Mineral King’s. Its tape-seamed bathtub floor and fly had no problem handling rain. The Tungsten’s fly is not adaptable in the same way the Mineral ozark trail chair King 3’s is, but it is treated for extra UV protection, which should help lengthen the tent’s lifespan. You can also set up the tent without the fly while retaining some privacy, since the tent body has a high polyester wall on one side. Like the Mineral King 3, this tent comes with a footprint.
I took it back and spent an additional 26 dollars buying a coleman 31 x 11 hopefully this one will last. I am preparing for a camping trip of 10 days and nights down in Florida where it rains a lot and the wind sometimes is pretty strong so I am wondering if the fly will stay put. There is a large space between it and the top of the tent that might be a trap for strong wind so the fly gets ripped off.
