These are the dedicated carbon race bikes, as ridden by the (now disbanded) UCI continental team Madison Genesis. The frame has internally routed cables for better aerodynamics and a wide section down tube for better torsional stiffness. The aero features of more expensive bikes are present, with cables are routed internally and the leading edges of the frame are smoothly rounded.
Prefitted mudguards and more puncture resistant city tyres are such examples. There aren’t mounting points for front or rear pannier racks; strap on bike-packing bags are the weapon of choice here. Some practically remains, with downtube bottle bosses (useful for holding extra water or a tool keg) and discrete mudguard mounts.
One of the most affordable, but still decent quality, entry level electric bikes. Low step design is easy to mount, adjustable neck and shock add comfort, twist throttle…… As a hybrid bike, the Genesis Bella Vista is designed to provide the best of both worlds – the comfort of a road bike and the ruggedness of a mountain bike. Its ergonomic design and wide, comfortable saddle make it great for commuting or leisurely rides, while the robust frame and broad tires make it capable of taking on off-road trails. The Genesis™ bicycle rack has the simple “floating” concentric rings that look like an attractive outdoor sculpture.
There aren’t a whole lot of dealers that carry this bike right now, in part because I believe their margins are very low, but it is available online. If you do get it over the Internet there will be some assembly involved and it can take some effort to work with. Ultimately, you get power and decent range here but only have a twist throttle to take advantage of it. Pedal assist adds cost and complexity but helps when climbing hills and ultimately extends your range while giving your wrist a break. The pack on this bike is removable and feels pretty solid but the rack it mounts to is high up and fairly rigid which creates more strain.
With these bikes, the saddles have been changed for a women specific model as well as shorter cranks and narrower handlebars being specced to better suit female proportions. Unstable due to steep long travel shock angle and high battery pack position. Relatively low genesis mountain bike price but tough to test ride as it’s primarily available only online… More solid than earlier Phantom ebikes, does not fold and has reinforced battery pack supports. High end RockShox fork with lockout, upgraded pedals (that don’t fold) and hydraulic Avid DB……
This further increases mud clearance and also adds to the frame’s compliance, providing better control. Definitely not a versatile bike; this is designed with only CX racing in mind and makes no compromises – except for, perhaps, its two sets of bottle bosses. The steel tubes of these endurance bikes, with their ability to dampen the road buzz, make them perfectly suited to long days out in the saddle. Pannier and mudguard mounts are also present on these frames, adding to their versatility. The external cable routing and threaded bottom brackets are also features that will be well apricated by home mechanics.
We’re always looking out for keen riders who are planning trips so we are open to receiving sponsorship proposals to consider. We recommend noting down your frame number (located on the underside of the Bottom Bracket) and using one of the many online services available.
