26″ Genesis Whirlwind Mountain Pro Bike Off Road Trail Tires 21-Speed

No matter how or where you ride, safety should always be your number one priority. Use reflectors and lights if you plan to ride in low light conditions, and always follow traffic rules when riding on roads. Singletrack uses affiliate services called Skimlinks and which means we may earn revenue if you buy a product after clicking a link to a retailer on our site. We’re already busy sketching, designing, prototyping and developing the next generation of British bikes built for your next adventure.

Whilst the 30 model gets a Shimano 105 2×11 drivetrain, along with the aluminium frame and carbon fork. Powerful geared hub motor and high voltage battery pack for excellent torque and climbing ability. Compact folding design with removable battery, comfortable suspension fork and seat post shock… With massive tours becoming more commonplace, we introduce the Tour de Fer – and for more adventurous missions, the Longitude – a rigid 29er mountain bike with all the required mounts and clearance for 2.5-inch tyres. Essentially an aluminium version of the Croix de Fer, the CDA features a similar plethora of mounts and wide clearances but comes in at a significantly lower price.

With these bikes, the saddles have been changed for a women specific model as well as shorter cranks and narrower handlebars being specced to better suit female proportions. Unstable due to steep long travel shock angle and high battery pack position. Relatively low price but tough to test ride as it’s primarily available only online… More solid than earlier Phantom ebikes, does not fold and has reinforced battery pack supports. High end RockShox fork with lockout, upgraded pedals (that don’t fold) and hydraulic Avid DB……

When full, these same concentric rings park bikes safely and securely. The Genesis™ offers two contact points, at front and rear, for locking. The unique concentric design of the Genesis™ bike rack helps guide bikes into proper parking position while providing double the parking space of typical serpentine racks. They include five genesis mountain bike flat bar ‘Day One’ models, the singlespeed drop bar Flyer and seven hardtail mountain bikes. Sitting somewhere in the middle was the Vapour – a cyclo-cross bike that would occupy our thoughts around bikes that can go further… There are, however, a number of points that make this a more versatile bike than the carbon alternative.

But more than that, there’s front and rear dynamo lights, so you never need worry about forgetting/neglecting to charge your lights. An internally geared hub goes a long way to weather proofing the drivetrain, as do the full housed gear cables that help stop dirt degrading your shifting performance. Although the two bikes in this section might both be called the ‘Vapour’ with only the epithets ‘Alloy’ and ‘Carbon’ differentiating them, there are actually significant distinctions to be made. Our team of experts put in hard miles testing cycling tech and will always share honest, unbiased advice to help you choose. One of our service advisors will put your bike in the stand and run it through our professional inspection process. We want to know about your concerns, learn about your riding habits, and understand your goals.

One of the most affordable, but still decent quality, entry level electric bikes. Low step design is easy to mount, adjustable neck and shock add comfort, twist throttle…… As a hybrid bike, the Genesis Bella Vista is designed to provide the best of both worlds – the comfort of a road bike and the ruggedness of a mountain bike. Its ergonomic design and wide, comfortable saddle make it great for commuting or leisurely rides, while the robust frame and broad tires make it capable of taking on off-road trails. The Genesis™ bicycle rack has the simple “floating” concentric rings that look like an attractive outdoor sculpture.

The Latitude Ti is our new flagship mountain bike and goes to the top of many wishlists, while a geared Flyer adds versatility to a classic. Ever since, we’ve been making bikes that make you dream of your next adventure – whether that’s a continent crossing epic, or the daily commute. At the time, we weren’t sure if people would get it, so we hedged slightly, labelling it as a cross bike in the truest sense of the word. Unfortunately we do not range Genesis branded components for after sale. We now have a list of rear-mech hangers compatible with genesis bicycless – please visit your local dealer to order one.

One of the best features of Genesis bikes is the ability to customize them. Credited with creating the first-ever gravel bike, Genesis bicycles are designed to take you on adventure — off-road, on-road, or wherever your heart desires. We expand our mountain bike range to include the hardcore hardtails Abyss and Alptitude, and produced our first titanium frame; the Altitude Ti. As with the Day One, there are mudguards, rear pannier rack, and an internally geared rear hub for all weather dependability.

I listed “no mounting points for cargo” as a con but with the limited support here and somewhat delicate battery interface I think they made the right call. Driving this bike is a 500 watt direct drive (gearless) rear hub motor. It offers decent power and operates smoothly without creating much noise. The drawbacks here are weight and size because the motor relies on big magnets inside to create power. Also, when coasting or pedaling without assist the magnets may create some drag vs. a geared motor with a freewheeling mechanism. It also does not take advantage of regenerative braking which some other gearless systems offer but overall it’s durable and gets the job done.
