In order to give the Ozark Trail Camping chair a thorough testing, we took it out to the base of the Lammermuir hills on a breezy, overcast afternoon to see how it would fare. It was a cooperative effort of seven governmental agencies, one private landowner, and several environmental groups banded together in what later became the Ozark Trail Council. Under this cooperative relationship, the Ozark Trail Council oversaw the construction of some 170+ miles of trail in just under a decade. Along with previously existing trails, the Ozark Trail system contained more than 200 miles of trail by 1991. Registration is open for the second annual Here’s Johnny 10-kilometer trail run Oct. 5 at Coler Mountain Bike Preserve in Bentonville. The course covers the forested Here’s Johnny trail and loops to the ozark trail chair Homestead inside the preserve.

Visitors can walk the historic downtown district of towering brick buildings for a day of shopping and dining at quaint cafes and coffee shops.

The chair has held up to years of backyard hangs and camping trips, although the cooler pouch has deteriorated, and some parts of the fabric close to the frame have frayed. During a camping trip, I sat in a friend’s REI Flexlite Camp Boss, which is a larger version of REI’s Flexlite line of chairs that we mention in the competition. It was surprisingly comfortable and more stable than the Flexlite and Flexlite Air that we tested.
