I broke out the Ozark Trail Sun Shade on my first outing this season. The setup was relatively straightforward. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the flaps on the bottom are designed to be sandbags for use at the beach. I appreciated the directions being attached to the storage bag so they did not get lost or misplaced.
One summer we went camping and for three days in rained and rained. Plus we had plenty of room just to move around. To anyone who needs a good size tent that is ozark trail screen house leak proof, this is it. I have bought four tents of the Ozark Trail dome in the past 1 1/2 years. They leak all over even after I sprayed them with the sealer.
We, like some others, know that tents are NOT waterproof, so we sprayed the seams etc. with water replant. When we reached the beach everything went great, first night 30 mh winds. Next night still calm, took cover off and loved looking up at the night sky.
I have owned several in my day but this one is very durable. I was skeptical when I originally purchased it. Now I tell everyone this is the one they need. I really like the height and room ozark trail screen house of this tent. The extra pockets that just out with a zipper are a nice addition. There was a procedure for pre-dampening it to somehow activate its waterproof properties, total BS.
This Ozark Trail tent is, sorry to say this, a POS. Do not, DO NOT, spend your money on this. This piece of crap promises the buyer a lot for a lot of money, but what you get is something of lesser quality than if you bought a tent from the local Dollar store. The Ozark Trail tent I purchased is model HKD 08055R. I have a design change suggestion but I do not see an email address anywhere; therefore I cannot submit it to someone who can do something about it.
Camp at Highway DD trailhead near the section’s start or Harper Spring around the 15 mile-mark. While this pack may not be big enough to carry all the gear you need for longer treks, it offers many of the features you would want at a good price. Bring enough water for your trip or a way to purify water to make it safe to drink. The canopy high itself comes with a useful mesh pocket for storing your smaller gadgets. Its 112-inch heart peak offers you plenty of room to create an entertainment area for your outside furnishings and friends. I got this tent for summer and fall; so far it has been great, the size is the best part.
So I went out and got 2 tarps and draped them over the top and tied them down to the tent. Though I didn’t rainproof this tent right away, it didn’t leak that bad anyway. Plenty of room was a plus (easily fits a queen sized airbed maybe 2, and a decent ceiling height also was good. Can be set up by 1 person, but much easier with 2 people. It is perfectly possible for one person to set it up as long as it is not windy.
What are they plastic or made out of pewter. And before you guys cop an attitude, I have been camping since I was at least 4 years old and I am now in my mid-50s. These push locks get very difficult to use over time, especially if the tent is used on the beach and exposed to sand and saltwater, causing rust build up. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The Ozark Tail sun shade comes with side curtains to cover the mesh on the side.
