If you wish to have any work completed we will be book you in at the earliest available opportunity, but this may not be the same-day. Yes, however we are unable to work on any non-Halfords electric bike where we need to complete electrical work, as this is due to access to spare parts and often voiding the manufactures warranty. We can still complete mechanical work on non-Halfords electric bikes. I hope that they have really switched-on transport consultants on board, who can help resolve the outstanding concerns.
We also cover all other components on the bike for 1 year unless the
manufacturer states otherwise. You will not be charged labour for the fitting of a part
which has been approved under our Guarantee. I can think of quite a few businesses in industrial parks with access only by roads that are unsafe for cyclists, have no sidewalks for pedestrians, kent bayside cruiser and very poor access by public transport yet nobody bats an eye. I get the arguments around illegal parking etc, but that can be fixed by enforcing rules about illegal parking. If an employer doesn’t want to use the finite space on its premises for (non-disabled) car parking, I don’t see that’s any business of a state agency.
As I mentioned I believe this bike is aimed at someone who is not going to do particularly technical or serious rides. For that you need a nice easy and comfortable bike that is practical to use, and so far the Kentfield ticks this box. For those of you who don’t know, Marin is a bike company originating from California who since 1986 have been renowned for making amazing mountain bikes. They have since branched out and now produce a range of drop bar bikes, a few of which we have had the pleasure of riding and reviewing. This is the first hybrid bike from Marin we have used and so we were excited to see what it had to offer. Sometimes we may ask you to leave your bike with us so we can get one of our trained mechanics in place and / or order in the required parts.
They are the sort of width you would expect of a mountain bike. They come in at 740mm, which is a bit less than the Bobcats at 780mm (hardtail mountain bike), and more than the Fairfax 680mm (flat bar fitness bike). When you get going you don’t notice it but it definitely is something that feels different to other bikes. All items can be inspected in-person (and you are encouraged to do so) prior to bidding. If you can’t inspect, you can enjoy return protection by either using Buyers Assurance or becoming a Premium Buyers Club member.
Then we’ve got the issue of separating who can, who can’t and policing that. One of the great things about the car is it allows people to chain multiple journey tasks – and we build our lives around that ability (pick up shopping on the way home, zipping off for different activities etc). So we often start out the day in the car (maybe drop the kids off) and then we’re using it all day and want to park at destinations. This was expected and with the padded seat makes for a pleasant and easy position – like a traditional Dutch bike. If the store is too busy to complete it on the spot they will book you in at the earliest available opportunity, but this may not be the same-day.
In the two years we have been riding it we have had only one puncture. The gearing on the bike is very forgiving with a ginormous rear cassette with its big ring at 51 teeth. This is the same as mountain bikes and bigger than most gravel bikes. The result here is a super easy pedal option for any hill you come across or to simply get away from the traffic lights quicker. Having no derailleur on the front saves on weight and also reduces servicing costs. If your bike or E-scooter is left with us for a repair or service we’ll book you into our system.
It’s an example of planning and masterplanning failure, in a society that has designed out non-motor vehicle options. I swear that most people who cry “won’t you think of disabled people” are the very last people who actually think or care about disabled people. Its just a really nice way to take the moral high ground when they don’t want something to happen. I have parking challenges for work etc. I generally think it needs to be priced to allow when “needed” but to discourage.
This enables us to give you updates as your job flows through the repair process and notify you of updates, if we need to speak with you and confirming when your bike is ready to collect. We will also confirm if the extra work can be completed straight away or if the bike needs to be booked back e.g. sometimes we need to ensure one of our trained mechanics is in place and / or order in the required parts. If they recommend safety repairs or servicing they will give kent electric bike you a no obligation estimate for the cost. If it was other way around and only a token effort to accommodate pedestrians and cyclists, this would have been approved ages ago. I speak as someone who worked on a business park where the cycle lane was only ever used to park cars in, and nothing was ever done to stop this. A new build estate near us has a cycle lane and pedestrian lane on the pavement and shock shock horror, the bike lane is just used as parking.
