Most new tents incorporate this ventilated canopy design to increase airflow and reduce the trapping of hot air, helping to keep those in the shade cooler and more comfortable. To test out the Ozark Trail Thermos line, I used the baseline temperature of 185 degrees Fahrenheit for all of the products I tested. My goal was to see how long I could keep a cup of coffee warm and if there would be variation in temperatures over time across the tumblers. I also used two of the 22oz Tumblers, one with the standard open mouth lid and one with a closed, spill proof lid. I’ll be totally honest, I was not expecting this cooler to be as nice as it was. It’s easy to get caught up in brand perception and often times very difficult to break away from what you think you know about a brand. I used the word “think” intentionally, because what I thought I knew about Ozark Trail was not correct. This cooler has a number of features that you would find on more expensive coolers and a few that you won’t find. But after half a dozen excursions, we found—as we had with the Renetto Original Canopy Chair—that having a chair you can easily carry without a bag is preferable. In real-world conditions, you’re often packing up fast to try to get ahead of crowds or traffic. So you can easily misplace a carry sack on a dark night in a crowded field, especially if you’re in a large group or have a lot of stuff. At a fireworks show and at the beach, we appreciated a chair that was ready to go without even 30 seconds of hassle.
But it didn’t turn or pull as smoothly on sand as the Mac Sports beach wagon, and its smaller wheels seemed to sink. This Mac Sports wagon folds up to about the same size ozark trail screen house as the beach-wagon version of the Mac Sports. But because of how tightly this one folds, it seems more compact and easy to carry than any of the other wagons we tested.
The 4-pound, steel-construction REI chair has an attached carry strap, rather than a carry bag like the other chairs.
