The TurboBooster LX requires a few more minutes of setup out of the box than the Chicco KidFit ClearTex Plus. The armrests, cupholder, and seat pads need to be attached, and it takes a moment to connect the top and bottom half of the seat. Unlike the previous version of the seat, the TurboBooster LX does not, we repeat, does NOT require screws in the armrest. This innovation alone makes this incarnation of the seat a victory. For us, it means that this model gets to ride in a high back booster for a while yet because the shoulder belt guide fit is better with a fixed shoulder belt guide. It’s also helped her remain in the correct position when she’s sleeping in the car.
The Clek Olli is a backless booster seat with rigid LATCH that weighs 5 pounds. The LATCH connectors release easily with the pull of a strap. This seat comes in a range of stylish, premium fabrics, and it has a removable carrying strap and dishwasher-safe cupholder.
The Britax Highpoint is another high-back booster seat with push-button alligator LATCH connectors that can be converted to backless. This pricey seat has an optional crotch buckle, which can help with correct posture and positioning but can also be a nuisance. We were unable to test the Highpoint due to availability issues. The seat has plenty of padding and feels cushy for the rider. Like the KidFit ClearTex Plus, the GoFit Plus has removable, dishwasher-safe cupholders that expand and collapse.
This sensor data is a measurable way to assess the likelihood of injury arising from an impact. Better performance results yield lower scores as the force exerted on the child is less (less is better, like golf). In our tests, the UPPAbaby Alta had the most impressive results with the lowest recorded sensor data. The Peg Perego Viaggio Flex 120 had the second-best results.
