So many models are offered that it can be hard to choose exactly which bike is best for you. We’ve split this guide up into four large sections; road bikes, adventure bikes, cyclocross bikes, and utility bikes, detailing each of the bikes in the range and how they differ from the others. If you’re a dyed in the wool roadie or complete ‘cross-head, you can jump straight to the section that interests you most. As a classic mountain bike, the Genesis V2100 Mountain Bike is designed to take on rugged terrains with ease. It’s equipped with a four-bar suspension and 21-speed drivetrain, providing optimum control and stability even on steep mountain trails. Its strong aluminum frame and robust wheels ensure durability, making it perfect for off-road adventures.
The battery powering this bike delivers ~36 volts of power and 9 amp hours of capacity. That’s kind of average and the pack is a bit heavier than some equivalent designs because it uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry vs. Lithium Manganese or Lithium Cobalt. The pack is kind of large and you can actually upgrade it to be even larger if you want, just be careful over large bumps given the limited strength of just one pair of support struts vs. higher end ProdecoTech bikes. The greatest restriction on how fast you can go when pinning singletrack is the tyres, yes they are fast rolling but they lack bite, something with greater cornering grip would certainly show off bikes handling better. At around 27lbs the Core weighs in somewhere in the middle of the scale that you would expect for a 120mm trail blaster but it feels nippy and easy to spin up to speed thanks to the lightweight rims and fast rolling tyres. Genesis created the personalities and graphics for bikes built for the world’s diverse cultures. You can see our work for Giant in the grueling Tour de France, on Tokyo commuter streets, and in a garage much like your own. Versatility still pervades the frame, with downtube bottle bosses and mounts for a rear rack and mudguards. Although this bike can take on the commuting duties or a bit of cycle-touring, it is more suited to lively riding in the woods and on bridleways. There are three different spec levels, with 10 being the entry level, 20 the mid-range and 30 being the top of this range. For the entry level, you’ll get a Shimano Claris 2×8 drivetrain, an aluminium frame and carbon fork.
The frame is fully carbon and the cables are integrated into the frame for a cleaner look and better aerodynamics. As the name suggests, these are bikes that are designed for the explicit purpose of riding on the road. Some are more race oriented, meaning mudguard and pannier mounts are forgone and the geometry is longer and lower. Others have more of an endurance focus, better suited to long rides and have all the mounts you need for light cycle-touring.
Also, ensure your brakes are working properly and adjust them as needed. The Genesis Tour de Fer, as the name suggests, is a fully equipped long distance all road tourer. One of the great strengths of the Genesis range is their commuter/ all round/ cyclocross bikes – the Croix de Fer, Tour de Fer and CDA. Your genesis mountain bike bike frame & fork are protected under our Lifetime Warranty policy. We become title sponsor of the all-new Madison Genesis cycling team, bringing steel back to the peloton with prototype Reynolds 953 and 931 tubed Volare framesets. Our love affair with steel road bikes begins with the Reynolds 853 Equilibrium.
In our most epic adventure to date, Sophie and Jérémy set off for a two-and-a-half-year journey from Alaska to Patagonia – the length of the Americas! On board a pair of Longitudes, they aim to finish in December 2019.Back at home, Alex Staniforth covers the UK’s 100 highest points on bike, foot and – if needed – kayak! Our Vapour genesis bike gets the carbon treatment, the Zero goes disc, while Connor Swift races a prototype Zero SL to victory at its first outing. There’s also a posh Croix de Fer in 931 guise, the Equilibrium and Day One get disc brakes and the prototype Fugio 853 makes it into production – just in time for Vin Cox to thrash it across the TransIowa.

That way, we can provide exactly what you need to get the most out of your bike. The first thing you notice is that the cockpit is comfortable, it just feels right. Not too long and well balanced with none of the ‘too much weight on the wrists’ feeling that sometimes comes on trail hardtails.
