Coleman Sundome 2 Person Tent Review Great Price

The Sundome’s quick pitch time, compact pack size and light weight make this a great tent for weekend breaks and touring camping. The Coleman Sundome 4 is a quick and easy to pitch 4 person dome tent – get this tent pitched and ready to camp in 5 minutes. In no time at all (less then ten minutes actually), the Coleman camping tent was standing and ready to go in our back yard.

The downside, the poles that support it are made of what appears to be a fiberglass material that with age have started to disintegrate. Around the globe, memory cafes — virtual and in-person gatherings people who are living with dementia and their caregivers — are growing more popular…. There’s no included footprint with this tent, and we’d recommend purchasing a 10’x10’ footprint, which you’ll need to find from a third-party supplier since Coleman does not make one. Alternatively, you can save a few bucks by opting for a tarp, which can also be cut to size if the measurements aren’t a perfect fit.

I measured my poles and I did find some aluminum poles online that are the exact size to fit my tent for $36 for the pair so that’s an option I would take if I break a pole. First off, the price on the 2 is hard to beat. For $69 this is an affordable entry level tent for a someone new to camping in mild conditions (more on that in a sec).

It’s a step up in price from the Discovery above at $230, but you do get a number of upgrades, including a lighter weight (14 lbs. 1 oz.), taller peak height (72 in.), and smaller packed size. The Kelty uses slightly higher-quality materials than the Sundome, but we find it hard to justify spending more for less space and similar overall performance. The Coleman® 4-Person Sundome® Dark Room™ Dome Camping Tent blocks 90% of sunlight (vs. a comparable Coleman tent) so you can put the kids to bed early or sleep in past sunrise.

So, keeping in line with what Coleman calls a four person instant tent, I went along the same lines once again while choosing our new tent. I’m not quite sure of what coleman sundome four people the company was referring to when they say it ‘sleeps four’. The upside, it still looked brand new and cosmetically didn’t really show any wear at all.

Even without gear, it’s going to be a fight for floor space. Groups of four or families would definitely be better off investing in a larger model – like the 6 person coleman sundome model. Unless you are planning to use the tent just for sleeping (and keep your gear stored somewhere else) it’s going to be too small for a family of four.
