The Coleman 6 person instant cabin tent is incredibly easy to carry. The Coleman’s lightning-fast setup time is really its only party piece. Besides this, it’s very much a bare-bones tent at an attractive price point. They’ve even included used a heavy duty fabric for the flooring to help reduce ground water moisture from seeping in.
So from this, you realize that this is a very livable structure. This is why it is without an extra fly, you want unobstructed views when you have such great windows. I like Coleman tents in general they offer a price to quality ratio that works. In my opinion this Instant Tent is overpriced, when compared to other Coleman tents of a similar size. Of course, if you’re using this tent without the rain fly in dry weather, it’s even easier to setup. There is plenty of space around under the windows so they missed the opportunity to make this tent far more livable. The problem may appear with vertical flaps when you have rain and strong wind which can force water to move to the sides and under the flaps tp the zippers. So my point is that I would not rely on this system as fully waterproof, although it really looks great and durable.
On the interior the Skydome boasts above average head/elbow room thanks to it’s near-vertical walls and tall peak height. Outside the tent you’ll find extra storage space as well beneath the Skydome’s sizeable front vestibule which also converts into a sun awning as needed with help of a few trekking poles. The setup process of the Coleman 6 person instant cabin tent is a DREAM compared to a traditional tent. However, cabin tents can have issues with strong winds due to their tall tent walls.
