If you’d prefer to pitch your tent in a matter of seconds rather than minutes, the Coleman Instant Tent 6 has you covered. We don’t expect the springy fiberglass poles to last more than a few seasons, but considering this tent costs about as much as taking the family out to dinner, it’s just a great buy overall. For families, Core and Ozark Trail make some of the best instant 10-person tents. And if you’re looking for the best 4-person instant cabin tent, I’d go with Gazelle. This 6-person instant cabin tent is spacious, with 100 square feet of floor space. It also boasts a center height of 80 inches, so it’s tall enough to stand in, with headspace to spare.
I highly recommend coleman screen tents and I still use my little 2 person one to this day. There are a lot of great things about the Coleman 2 person pop-up tent that not only make it super easy to transport and set up but also make it a great instant tent overall. Pop-up tents also known as instant tents take up barely any space and weigh very little. That’s why instant pop up tents like the ones by Coleman are so amazing, they set themselves up in a matter of seconds.
The nearly vertical walls and its height of nearly two meters are the features which make it a cabin type tent. If you’re looking for something even bigger and sturdier, check out the Coleman Weathermaster. Its extra-large floor plan and top-notch weather resistance make for an excellent family shelter that’s sure to last for years to come.
We travel full time in our RV and write about what we learn and share our experiences. This is also where we share our favorite RV and camping-related gear and accessories. A good pop up tent will immediately pop open and land on the ground ready to sleep in. If you are planning on doing some full winter camping I would suggest getting a more specialized tent for winter camping. I’ve used mine in a few rainstorms and there was even a little flooding, everything inside the tent stayed nice and dry.
There is plenty of space around under the windows so they missed the opportunity to make this tent far more livable. The problem may appear with vertical flaps when you have rain and strong wind which can force water to move to the sides and under the flaps tp the zippers. So my point is that I would not rely on this system as fully waterproof, although it really looks great and durable.
The packed size of the Coleman six-person tent is about 48″ x 9″. The expandable carry bag comes with a rip strip that helps reduce the packed size and make it easier to store away. You still have to stake the tent, then equip the rain fly over the top of the tent. If you make this a two or more person job, you’ll speed things along, but it’s still not a long setup process. Window covers paired with weather protection double-thick fabric should also keep the rain at bay, and that’s all without the additional rainfly. The Coleman 6 person instant tent cabin is a savior sent to anyone who hates pitching a tent.
I’ve used this tent in windstorms, rainstorms, hot sunny days, and cold fall nights and everything is still as good as new. It can be done but there’s a lot of strain on the zipper and the seams around it. You don’t have to worry about it blowing away in the wind or finding a place to store it because it’s attached permanently. The wind cover is extremely easy to remove so you can enjoy the breeze or lay under the stars at night protected from mosquitoes. We experienced some very high winds when camping in southern Utah and although it was very noisy (like all tents in the wind) I never felt like the whole thing was going to blow away.
